In Boscastle there was clean-up operation. The residents feared the worst, it is because of the four inches of rain that fell in eight hours, that causing flooding damages some of the homes and businesses in harbour area also. The official said “screen put up at the top of a village following the serious flooding three years ago had prevented debris being swept down by the water and blocking culverts.”  There was an estimated 440 million gallons of flood water that poured through the village in 2004, it is destructive many buildings and washing vehicles into the harbour and beyond. The village river was held but the flood was caused by the excess surface water. The residents put some sand bags. There are two homes and three shops were flooded and cars were abandoned.  A spokesman for the Environment Agency South West region, said: “The flood defence schemes put in place since 2004 have worked.”  He said “the problems in 2004 had been caused by debris, including boulders, rocks and trees, being swept down by the water. The debris blocked culverts, causing the serious flooding. ”  There are reasons why some of the places is being suffered from flood so that the official and also the people should do something for it so , when the disaster comes we are ready and also prepare for it.
