Aussie flood zone bigger than France and Germany combined

The officials said that “More than 200,000 people have been affected by relentless flooding in northeast Australia, with the flood zone now stretching over an area bigger than France and Germany combined,”. Across the Queensland state, thousand of homes and businesses have been inundated with water after days of pounding rain caused swollen rivers to overflow. It was forced to evacuate as water swamped their communities, cutting off roads and devastating crops to the entire population of two towns. In the northeast Australia, heavy rains and flooding was common during the southern hemisphere summer, however the scope of the damages from the recent downpours was extremely unusual. Queensland state Premier Anna Bligh said ” “This is without a doubt a tragedy on an unprecedented scale,” Bligh told Australian Broadcasting Corp. “We now have 22 towns or cities that are either substantially flooded or isolated because the roads have been cut off to them. That represents some 200,000 people spanning an area that’s bigger than the size of France and Germany combined.” From the homes of the people that affected the flood thousand of people had been evacuated. Around 1, 000 people in the central Queensland town of Emerald was evacuated in the last 24 hours. The county mayor Peter Maguire said that “The town was facing the prospect of food shortages, power outages and sewage-contaminated floodwaters,”  To help the displaced residents three evacuation centers had been set up. The weather across of the state was drier, however the river levels were still rising in some areas as high waters worked their way toward the ocean.  The people should be ready and prepare for the times that the disaster appeared in our life. If they knew that this can be the cause of there death they should do something and call some help.
