From the advance 365, the Independent investment business, Cazenove Capital Management has gone live with an IT managed service. In a five year contract with the Cazenove Capital the advance 365 won, this is to provide and manage its IT infrastracture encompassing dual data centres, networks, servers and storage. The advance 365 was also providing the range of the services from the hosting support and services desk for the email, applications that includes the Cazenove Capital’s trading and settlement systems. The Director, head of the IT, Cazenove Capital, Stewart Norwood said that “Our data centres, networks, servers and storage were being managed in-house by Cazenove Group plc. As part of de-merging from the Group, there was a requirement to move Cazenove Capital’s IT across to a separate, dedicated infrastructure.” The Cazenove Capital was considering the managing and hosting it’s IT infrastructure in-house. However, it soon became clear that both strategically and economically, outsourcing it to a specialist IT provider was the best-fit solution. Norwood said that “An outsourced IT provider can deliver an evolving and flexible service and due to economies of scale, it should also be able to provide high service levels very economically” Because of the diligence and contractual negotiation process, after the extensive tendering the Cazenove Capital selected the advanced 365 as it was managing the services in providing the deliver a tailored service offering the around Cazenove Capital’s needs and providing the specialized rather than the standard ” off the shelf” proposition. The advanced 365 was demonstrating the necessary reliance in availability and the support levels Cazenove Capital required. Norwood said that, “Due to the real-time nature of our business, it is vital that we can trust our outsourced partner to provide us with continuous availability and support of the highest levels.” The Cazenove Capital was retained it’s in-house IT team who continuous to define the IT strategy and the support and evolve the firm’s portfolio management, trading, settlement, market data and other industry specific applications.
