The Third Annual International Outsourcing Summit (IOS) will be hosted by the Philippines. This is the landmark event for IT-BPO industry with the sessions led international delegates. The summit provides a platform to assess progress towards development goals provided in the IT-BPO Road Map 2011-2016. The projects potential annual growth of up to 20% over the nest five years. It is generating 1.3 million direct jobs, about 3.2 million indirect jobs and US$25 billion in revenues. The Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP) organized the event.
The Industry Affairs Executive Director of BPAP, Raymond Lacdao said that the traditional voice-based BPO will contribute substantially to that growth, non-voice, complex service was expected to b e the principal engine of the growth for the industry. They anticipated the growth in non-voice, complex IT-BPO services of 20-25% over the next five years, the voice-based services will grow at a rate of 15-20%. The IOS 2011 was designed to focus attention of the industry on the potential of non-voice, complex IT-BPO services and to increase the global visibility of the Philippines capability for delivering these services.
Last year, they became the global leader in voice BPO, this years summit also includes a session on how the industry can extend its leadership in the industry through innovating new services, it includes the research and the development. They are rap[idly transitioning to the non-voice, complex services delivery. They want to b e demonstrate that the Philippines has a very high capability in this area, it includes emerging complex services.
A variety of industry stakeholders represents a session speakers and panelists. They include the founding member of Pixar Animation Studios and CEO of Alligator Planet, Ralph Guggenheim, Vice President for Finance Process, Paul Robinson, Shell Shared Services Asia BV, Jackie O’ Leary, the Vice President of Customer Operation, Everything Everywhere.
